On Sudany evening of the 24th of February the Mother of God came to the church of St. James in Villaviciosa de Odón. The pastor, father Alvaro Ojeda welcomed the Mother of God very solemnly. As the pastor of families in the Diocese of Getafe he had been much involved in preparing the peregrination. Now he was welcoming the Icon in his own parish with joy.

On Sunday morning, February 24th, the meeting with the Czestochowa Icon was expected by the Polish Community in Mostoles. It is a vast Spanish town, known for the historical fact, that in 1808 the Mayors of Mostoles declared war against Napeoleon.

The following place to visit was the oldest church of Our Lady of Assumption to Heaven in Parla, near the town of Getafe. Many Poles live at the place and they came to welcome their Queen with their pastor father Andrzej. Ardent prayers lasted throughout the night on Saturday/Sunday. The farewell in the morning was full of emotion.

Having arrived at Getafe the Czestochowa Icon stopped at the Family Centra where She was awaited by bishop Joaquin Lopez de Andujar, the metropolitan bishop of the Diocese of Getafe. About 300 people came. After the solemn welcome bishop Lopez said he had deliberately chosen the Family Centre as the place to welcome Our Lady of Częstochowa in Getafe.

On Thursday, February 21st a group of pro-lifers from the next Spanish diocese – Getafe – took over the care of the Icon of Our Lady in Ajalvir. The arrival at the first place in the diocese of Getafe – Pinto, took place almost an hour earlier than planned. The Capuchin Sisters were already waiting for the Mother of God and carried the Icon into their chapel themselves.
